Radiator Recore Service

Traditionally, all radiators were manufactured from Brass tanks soldered onto a Brass and Copper core but as manufacturing technology has progressed; radiators are now commonly produced using Injection Moulded Plastic tanks clamped onto a Brass & Copper or Aluminium core.

Costs vary depending on core size and construction type. The old radiator is generally required upfront to take spec and price a recore.

Turnaround time is typically 2 to 3 working days.

Reasons to recore :
Replacement
Part of a Vehicle Service or Maintenance Schedule.
Corrosion or Deterioration from age / operating conditions / particular application.
Where it is the most economically viable option or your only available option i.e. Very Expensive ‘Dealer Only’ part / Part No Longer Available
Choking / blockage of the core.
Requirement for more cooling capacity/efficiency.
Restoration of Classic or Vintage Vehicles
Customisation and Alteration

As with most remanufacturing services, this recore service is based on the recore of your old radiator which MUST be in serviceable condition. Charges/Surcharges will apply to units that are not in serviceable condition.

The main elements that would be reused are the tanks, brackets and mounting sides.
If any of these items are unserviceable, damaged or missing we can replace / repair them for you:

Recore Specific Terms & Conditions

Please read the Terms & Conditions below for exceptions and limitations of this service.

Non-Stock Cores which have to be made as ‘Specials’ will require the unit to be on our premises to be measured for specification as ‘Special’ cores cannot be returned and we will therefore measure the core when we receive it. You will be notified in advance if your application requires a ‘Special’ non-stock core.

For whatever reason, if we cannot recore / repair / remanufacture your radiator there is a very good chance we can replace it from stock, new or used.

We do not straighten/dress/replace fins. Fins are not replaceable and can be damaged further if sufficient care is not taken when dressing. We can provide this service but it’s free to do it yourself. (YouTube)
